Roger Brown

Team: Learning Technologies

Roger is the Learning Technologies Operations Manager and has been working with educational technologies (edtech) since 1997. He started in edtech while at Griffith University (QLD, Australia) creating learning objects in Flash, Director, HTML, and Javascript. After a hiatus to explore the environmental management discipline (he has an MPhil from UCT in Env Man) he got back into edtech supporting Vula as a way to spend more time at home - he'd just gotten back from a climate change project in Niger when he applied for his first position in CILT (CET as it was then).

After a couple of years as the Learning Technologies Consultant the LT team expanded and his current position was created. Roger is surrounded by a fantastic team that supports the use and development of Vula, lecture recording (both hardware and software), Adobe Connect, Turnitin at UCT and beyond. He is also the "go to" guy for the Upper Campus Student Learning Centre and as such does lots of training and presentations about how to use the ed technologies at UCT.
