Issues for universities using private companies for online education
12 Mar 2019 - 10:45
At a time when blended learning courses and online qualifications are becoming part of the work of residential universities, they are confronted with the question of where the capacity for these new areas of activity will come from. This Briefing Paper explains the new landscape and teases out the potential options universities can take specifically in terms of how they might relate to the new companies which have come into being to offer a range of services. Explaining the continuum of possibilities, the briefing provides a SWOT analysis of the options. Written by CILT's director, Laura Czerniewicz and Online Education Manager Sukaina Walji the Briefing has proved useful beyond the borders of South African higher education.
